Our day
starts at Sand Harbor at 8 am. Once you have been fitted and
given instruction, we will depart from the Sand Harbor
Shoreline and start making our way, with a leisurely
pace, along the beautiful East Shore of Tahoe. Once we arrive at
the famous lodge we will have some snacks on the beach before
exploring the property. Professional tour guides will then take you
on a narrated walk through the Whittell estate, which includes the
historic lodge itself, the lighthouse, the infamous Boat House and
a 600’ underground tunnel leading to the Card House. In the
boathouse is stored the beautifully maintained yacht, Thunderbird,
built in 1939 for George Whittell. You will then follow the
Dragon’s tail path, past the waterfall and fountain to finish the
tour. We will rendezvous at the beach to begin our paddle back to
Sand Harbor.
